New at Bloom

Expanded programs for students who are ready for what’s next.

Bloom began with a simple commitment: structured, individualized instruction that meets each child where they are. That commitment hasn’t changed. What has grown is who we can serve. This year, Bloom is expanding beyond elementary and middle school support with new programs for older students preparing for college entrance exams and for families who want a clearer picture of their child’s academic strengths and needs.

Each new program follows the same principles that define everything we do: instruction begins with assessment, plans are built around the individual student, and families are kept informed from the first conversation to the final summary.

SAT & ACT Guided Test Prep

For independent students who want a plan, feedback, and accountability.

Guided Test Prep gives motivated students a clear path to test day without the rigidity of a traditional class. Every student begins with a full-length diagnostic on the MentoMind platform, a digital SAT and ACT practice system that mirrors the real exam and breaks results down by section and skill. From those results and the student’s test date, a Bloom tutor builds a ten-week study plan.

Students work through assigned lessons, practice sets, and timed sections on their own schedule, and meet one-to-one with their tutor for a 30-minute check-in each week to review questions, analyze errors, and refine strategy. Progress is tracked in real time, so students and families always know where things stand.

SAT & ACT Private Test Prep

For students who want a dedicated tutor teaching them in every session.

Private Test Prep combines the same diagnostic and adaptive practice with direct, one-to-one instruction twice a week.

Your student’s tutor teaches content, models how to approach each question type, and corrects misconceptions the moment they appear, adjusting the plan as the student’s skill data changes.

This option is well suited for students with ambitious score goals, limited time before their test date, or foundational gaps in reading, writing, or math that need to be closed before strategy work will pay off.

Families receive a midpoint update and an end-of-program readiness summary.

Academic Achievement Assessment

For families who want to understand, not guess.

When a child is struggling, or when a family simply wants objective information, general observations aren’t enough. Bloom’s Academic Achievement Assessment is an individually administered evaluation of reading, writing, or mathematics skills conducted by Dr. Shauntell Dunbar, a licensed special education teacher. Following a parent intake and review of relevant school information, Dr. Dunbar selects appropriate subtests from the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT), administers them one-to-one, and provides a written summary of findings, practical instructional recommendations, and a parent consultation to walk through the results. The assessment focuses on academic achievement and instructional planning; it does not determine special education eligibility.

Still Here, Still Growing

Bloom’s core programs continue: Reading & ELA Tutoring and Math Tutoring for students in grades 1–8, in small groups of two to three, and Private Online Tutoring for students who benefit from one-to-one support.
